Brand new and need LOTS of help.

Hi everyone, I was given an iphone 3G by friend and it has been working great for about one month. then all of a sudden I couldn't make calls and optus said it was blocked. called them and they told me it is a stolen/missing phone (nice friend). anyway I have done heaps of googling and finally jailbraked the phone, and got directed to this site and have downloaded via the optus AU option but I still can't make calls. I am getting a message saying 'missing cellular data network' and I don't know where to go from here.  Please help me in simple simple terms, I am so untech that I had to google how to send a text message when I got the phone lol serious....thanks anyone.

The APN has nothing to do with making calls..  your phone has been blocked by your carrier. Maybe the phone WAS stolen as you said. Return to your "friend".
