Hi Everyone

I've just updated my 2g iPhone to the 3.0 OS using Pwnage tool.
They problem i'm now having is that I can't turn mobile data off no matter what I do.
I used to enter www.iphone-vodafone.net.nz to stop it working (because its jail broken)
and then put in a random APN when I wanted to use it.

But now no matter what I put in as the APN, password, or whatever, the mobile data just keeps working.
Whats the deal with that. Am i doing something really stupid wrong?

This is something vodafone have done just recently..

Choose NZ - Black & White at the moment in the list in custom and it should do the job until vodafone have sorted it out..

Let me know

Thanks

Thanks heaps, thats done the trick.
Is vodafone trying to screw over people with unlocked phones?
That will help keep my bill down now!

Hi there,

I'm a faithful user of the APN Changer here in the United States. I had jailbroken/unlocked the original iPhone (2G), and I gave it to my wife who was using the iPhone as just a phone and wifi device with a legitimately paid for AT&T SIM when I got the 3G last year. Worked great.

Now that I've handed off my iPhone 3G to my wife since I have the 3GS, I did the redsn0w and ultrasn0w with the 3.0 software on the iPhone 3G. The first thing I did was go to the website to disable mobile data, she has no use for it & there's wifi wherever she goes. It worked on the 3G just like it did on 2.2.1 on the original iPhone, and I thought we were in the clear with no charges for mobile data.

I logged in to my AT&T account today and noticed that I'm getting charged for mobile data on the 3G iPhone she's using. This must happen when she opens an app or checks email before wifi "catches on." Therefore she's using pricey mobile data, which we've never been charged for before. So apparently the Fake APN profile isn't working, or I did something wrong.

Is there something else I need to do to ENSURE that the "Fake APN" is truly working? I've advised her to be 100% sure that the wifi icon is live/active BEFORE launching apps or checking email...but I really, REALLY liked how the Fake APN worked on the original iPhone, completely disabling data altogether.

I am not a super-geeky jailbreaker/unlocker. I've never, ever messed with anything command-line based or "SSH" or anything like that.

Any help here? Thank you in advance.
