Here is an unofficial IPCC Vodafone NZ File which will enable tethering rather than Vodafone having to Enable it (tethering on rather than tethered auth (vodafone having to authorise it )

Heh, I just got to testing the first .mobileconfig file you had for Vodafone NZ.

Worked fine on my Mac, as soon as I plugged into Windows I got advised there was a new IPCC file to retrieve. Installed that, dropped the profile I'd just installed, and all seems good. Tethering works, MMS settings appear in place etc.

Can you possibly elaborate on tethering on vs tethered auth? Mine seems to work, so not sure it's something I need to consider?

When someone else tried it (with NZ iPhone via V3.0 GM) the latest official IPCC file enabled tethering , but a message came up saying that Vodafone have to Authorise it.

Did you get that message at all with tethering when you tried to enable it?

Maybe vodafone customers actually will have this feature enabled already but the person who tried it with me was using an alternative Provider (MNVO Connection)?

Thanks

It worked for me, iPhone 3G running 3.0 GM. No prompts, no drama.
