With over 10,000 visits per day (and going up ) from iPhone users unlockit.co.nz is a great opportunity for advertisers who want to target iPhone users around the world.

iOS5 and the iPhone 5 is coming out very soon and we are looking for people who want to advertise on our homepage and the mobile site right now.

Prices are discounted at the moment from normal rates. The mobile site gets 90% of all the hits of the website.

Non Mobile Website – $US10 CPM (per 1000 impressions) (min of 10000 impressions) (any size available on website)
Mobile Website –  $US15 CPM (per 1000 impressions) (min of 10000 impression) (320×50 size )

AT&T APNs

I have listed Some AT&T APNs and are different

US – AT&T – for older plans
US – AT&T (wap.cingular) – non smartphones usually
US – AT&T (isp.cingular) – smartphones usually only
US – AT&T (Broadband) – most newer smartphone accounts
US – AT&T (PAYG) – PAYG AT&T Accounts

So saying all this.. if it doesn’t work initially.. then try one of the others..

Wanted…. settings for Vectone Mobile – UK

I don’t like putting mobile providers down.. but Vectone Mobile in the UK cannot give me the full DATA/MMS/WAP settings for their service because I am not a customer.

I have contacted a lot of carriers in the past asking them for settings and they all have been able to give me the settings but Vectone are being a little dumb in my opinion.

So.. does anyone know the proper settings for Data/MMS/WAP for Vectone Service?

Updated iPhone App Coming Soon

As the list of mobile carriers is getting larger the list of carriers can take a while to find your Country/Carrier.

Because of this the App will be updated in the next couple of weeks to list the carriers via Country and then via the Carrier name to make it much easier for people to use.

Also the App will be smart enough to know what country you are in and default to this.

Developer iOS5b2 and mobileconfig files

iOS 5.0b2 was released a couple of days ago and mobileconfig files (the supported method that Apple give instructions for) don’t install the APN Settings Properly. I’ve tested the Apple iPhone Configuration Program as well and its mobileconfig files don’t work either. The mobileconfig files seem to install but the settings don’t get installed onto the iPhone when you look at what it has done.

This seems like a bug on the 2nd Beta of iOS5 as with the first version they worked fine. At the moment (if you can) you will have to put the settings in by hand (if you can) or just wait until there is a fix probably with a new beta when apple bring it out.

MMS and Profiles

I’ve had a lot of questions regarding my Profiles and MMS Settings.

At the moment it is not possible to set MMS Settings via the Profiles. It may be possible under IOS5 but Apple have not released any information as of yet if you can. (But I don’t expect so).

If you can enter the details in my hand you can go to the Mobile Settings section of the website and it will give you the settings but if you cannot then you are stuck.

There are a number of jailbreaks available to make the settings editable but I have no idea which ones actually work and I cannot (at the moment) suggest any.

iOS 5 for developers came out this morning and I have tested it on http://www.unlockit.co.nz and it works with no problems. I have noticed a few of the transitions between pages look a little strange at times but that may be because of the webkit libraries I am using.

I have been developing a slightly new interface for installing the APN Details and it should be available in the next one or two weeks.

I’ve added a lot of APN’s for different carriers but I still have MORE to add in. I still have to find the settings for the following carriers or I have not added them in yet.

If you know the full settings please let me know so I can add them into the website. Many of these carriers have non-english websites so its hard to find the settings.
